Campo de’ Fiori is one of Rome’s most charming and lively squares, located in the heart of the historic center. Its name, meaning “field of flowers,” dates back to the Middle Ages, when the area was a flowery meadow. Today, the square is famous for its daily market, where vendors offer a wide array of fresh produce, spices, flowers, and handicrafts. In addition to the market, the square is surrounded by cafes, restaurants, and shops, making it an ideal place to enjoy local cuisine or simply relax with a coffee. A historical landmark is the statue of Giordano Bruno, erected in 1889 in memory of the philosopher who was burned at the stake by the Inquisition in 1600 in this very square. Campo de’ Fiori is a place where Roman history and culture intertwine with the vibrancy of contemporary life, creating a unique and irresistible atmosphere.
